George Russell was born on February 15, 1998, in King's Lynn, Norfolk, England.

He started karting at the age of seven and won multiple championships in his early years of racing.

Russell made his Formula One debut with the Williams team in 2019, after winning the FIA Formula 2 championship in 2018.

In the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix, Russell made a one-off appearance for Mercedes, replacing Lewis Hamilton, who was sidelined due to COVID-19. Russell qualified on pole position and led the majority of the race, but ultimately finished second due to a botched pit stop and a puncture.

Russell is known for his impressive performances in qualifying, and has outqualified his teammates in every race he has participated in.

Outside of racing, Russell is a keen football fan and supports Norwich City FC. He is also involved in various charitable causes, including supporting the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.
